Virtual Reality Extended Experience

The Aim
Full Body VR Extended Experience was a project where a evaluation of “Full Body” tracking was in focus, and also increase my personal experince with Virtual Reality.
To get some kind of result I also decided to do something fun with this project and focused on doing a short movie as a demonstration of what “Full Body VR” could do.
The Solution
With the help of hardware from HTC, and software from IKinema, was I enabled to create this project using Unreal Engine.
Hardware from HTC consisted of one complete set of HTC Vive Pro, and three vive trackers. With this hardware and with the help of the software IKinema Orion, I could have my own motion capture setup.
By using this setup I recorded some of my dance moves and then imported them into Unreal Engine. Used a feature called Animation Retargeting, and implemented it on several different characters to make it more enjoyable.
The end result was a short move of the dances with a environment built in Unreal Engine. (Video above)
